My current thinking is to use a [http://www.blackrapid.com/ BlackRapid] [http://www.amazon.com/BlackRapid-RS10SC-1AO-Metro-Camera-Strap-Black/dp/B009TL1YMY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Metro camera strap]. Seems very functional, light, and well-reviewed. In theory, the Snapr 35 would be perfect, but it was not well-reviewed.
I also bought a [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008UVIT7M/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 generic padded insert], which holds the body and a few lenses, and which I can use in any of my bags.

I could then use an [http://www.amazon.com/Express-Insert-Micro-Mirrorless-Camera/dp/B008UVIT7M/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top insert] to carry this around in my backpack or other bags.

Revision as of 02:36, 28 February 2013

I acquired an Olympus OM-D EM-5 on February 27, 2013. I got it with the bundled 12-50mm kit lens.

Lenses

I bought the Olympus lens hood for the 12-50mm as well as a B+W 52mm Clear UV Haze with Multi-Resistant Coating (010M).

I will almost certainly be getting the 75mm f1.8 lens. After that, I'm not sure. I'm considering:

Bags

I have the BlackRapid Metro camera strap. In theory, the Snapr 35 would have be perfect, but it was not well-reviewed.

I also bought a generic padded insert, which holds the body and a few lenses, and which I can use in any of my bags.

I could use an insert to carry this around in my backpack or other bags.

Another possibility is the LowePro S&F Utility Bag 100 AW, which I could probably use in the same way as a Snapr 35. Or, I could use the Metro strap along with a LowePro S&F Slim Lens Pouch 55 AW to hold an extra lens.

Finally, I'm considering a Tom Bihn Co-Pilot (possibly with an insert) as a dedicated bag:
