13" mid-2010 model. Running latest firmware and Mac OS X, meaning that I can theoretically upgrade to 16GB of RAM.

Upgrading to 500GB SSD (Samsung 840EVO recommended by The Wirecutter) and 16GB of RAM (see this article on upgrading RAM). Will go to Repair Total Mac for upgrade, as they're highly rated and seem to have the cheapest service. They're also in my 'hood!
